Talavera Junior School

Aims of our school

We at Talavera Junior School have an overall goal of providing

a happy secure environment where each child can fully develop

his potential.  Specifically we aim through educations to:

  • Secure, for each child, on-going personal fulfilment, despite                         ever changing circumstances.
  • Prepare pupils for life in the society in which they find themselves,             able to contribute to that society and to derive benefit from it.
  • Provide an environment in which each child will experience a sense of achievement, have challenging opportunities to develop his/her range            of skills and develop self esteem as a valued team member.
  • Help pupils develop high personal moral values, respect for religious     values and tolerance of other races, religions and ways of life.

We seek to achieve these aims by giving careful attention not only to the formal programme of lessons, but also to the informal programme of activities and those features which produce the school’s ethos, such as the quality of relationships, the concern for equality of opportunity, and the values exemplified in the way the school sets about its task and the way in which it is organised and managed.
